How do I market my law firm?
Start by deciding exactly which clients and matters you want more of. “More clients” is not a marketing strategy. Define the practice areas, case characteristics, geography, economics, and client profile that make a matter valuable to your firm. Then build your marketing around how those people actually discover, evaluate, and contact lawyers.
For many consumer-facing firms, the core system includes a strong website, Google Business Profile, local and organic SEO, reviews, paid search, referral development, useful content, and fast intake. Depending on the practice, social media, video, webinars, email, directories, public relations, or community partnerships can also work.
Business law firms often place more weight on relationships, thought leadership, events, LinkedIn, industry niches, and targeted business development.
Most importantly, connect marketing to intake. Track each lead from source to consultation, signed matter, expected value, and collected revenue. Answer calls quickly, follow up consistently, and measure conversion rates. This tells you whether a channel is producing valuable cases rather than merely clicks.
Legal marketing must also comply with the advertising and solicitation rules of every jurisdiction in which you practice, so review local bar requirements before launching campaigns.
